Group & Private Options

Children must be a minimum of 6 years old to visit the Sanctuary, 10 years old to participate in the Intro Tour and 15 years old to participate in the Interactive Tour. Note: We do not offer any visiting options for children under 6 years of age, including newborns.

Why These Age Restrictions?

Wolfdogs are very sensitive to children due to their size and mannerisms. The presence of younger children can disrupt the wolfdogs' comfort and natural behaviours. To ensure a safe and serene environment for our wolfdogs, we have set these age restrictions.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe space for our wolfdogs.

How far in advance to book a group or private visit is highly dependent on what visiting option you are interested in. As a rule of thumb, a minimum of 2-4 weeks would be recommended.

The Sanctuary does have some seating throughout the visitor pathways as well as some picnic tables. We do not have food available at the Sanctuary, but you are welcome to bring a picnic. The Sanctuary does have some picnic tables that you are welcome to use! A new day use area is currently in the works, which is the perfect spot for picnics and large gatherings.

In most circumstances, we do not require a deposit for group or private bookings. We do, however, require payment to be made in full a minimum of 7 days before your visit. Once your booking has been confirmed, you will receive a confirmation including the pertinent information for your visit, as well as an invoice. The invoice will be sent through the platform Stripe, which can be paid online at any time with a credit card. If you require a different method of payment, please let us know, and we can make the necessary arrangements for that.

Private and custom bookings have a 7-day cancellation period. Cancellations or changes made outside of the cancellation policy may be subject to no refund. We are always as understanding as possible and understand some things may be out of your control. We will do our best to come to a solution. However, last-minute cancellations or no-shows are likely to result in no refunds.

We reserve the right to cancel tours or make necessary changes due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation on our part, you will be refunded by Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary. Please note that the Sanctuary is open and operational rain or shine, -30C or +30C.

Please note, you are required to arrive at the arrival time as noted in your confirmation. If you are running late, please call us at 403-542-4594 as soon as possible. If you are excessively late, we may not be able to accommodate your visit, and no refunds will be issued.

Yes, the Sanctuary has ample space for RV and Coach buses to park as well as to enter and exit the Sanctuary grounds. We have visiting options that can accommodate up to 50 people.
