The moment you drive through the gates of the Sanctuary, you’ll spot our newest completed project, solar panels! This summer, we were thrilled to take a big step toward sustainability by going solar.
Installing solar power has long been a goal for us at the Sanctuary. As part of our mission, we strive to cultivate authentic connections between people and our wolfdogs, while also encouraging a deeper appreciation and reconnection to the natural world. Being good environmental stewards is important to us!
With over 60 wolfdogs in our care, we rely on a large walk-in freezer and several smaller deep freezers to safely store food. Add in our Visitor Centre operations, and our energy needs can be quite high. Reducing our electricity costs through solar energy means we can redirect those savings right back into the care and well-being of the wolfdogs.
Thank you to Camrose Energy for their support of this project!
