11:30 am – Pumpkin Carving
For this activity, we will have 2 small to medium-sized pumpkins that we will stuff with some thawed-out meat and meat juices. The wolfdogs will get the opportunity to ‘carve’ their pumpkins and be rewarded with lots of tasty snacks inside!
1:00 pm – Turkey Toss
For this activity, we will be feeding the wolfdogs one whole turkey each. This is a big meal, so this will be their meal for the day. This is a good opportunity to talk about how wolves in the wild are able to eat 20% of their body weight since they follow more of a feast and famine diet due to the challenges of hunting. This allows them to go days or even a week + without eating again.
2:00 pm – Pumpkin Spiced Iced Lattes!
This activity will have 2 components. First, the wolfdogs will get to investigate an actual pumpkin spice latte. They may want to have a taste or roll in it! The wolfdogs will also be treated to a tasty wolfdog popsicle with some pumpkin spice-inspired flavours, along with some of their favourites like chicken broth and meat bits.
3:00 pm – Thanksgiving Feast Sampling
For the activity, the wolfdogs will get a taste test of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner! Before giving the wolfdogs the item, our guides will be asking the crowd if they think they will taste it, roll in it, or maybe pee on it. We will see what the wolfdogs think of 3 different samplings, including turkey and gravy, cranberry jelly and pumpkin pie!
