On Saturday, April 25, we are opening the Sanctuary after hours for a unique experience that blends wolfdogs and the wonder of the night sky. This event is a fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting both not-for-profit organizations.
The evening begins with a self-guided Sanctuary Walk at sunset. This is a rare opportunity to explore the Sanctuary during a time of day that is not normally available to visitors. Wolfdogs are naturally most active around dawn and dusk, so this is the perfect time to visit.
As the light fades and evening settles in, we will transition into a guided stargazing experience. Members of the RASC Calgary Centre will have telescopes set up and ready to go, and their knowledgeable volunteers will help guide you through the night sky while sharing insights about the stars, planets, and constellations visible that evening.
To keep everyone cozy, we will have hot chocolate and tea available throughout the event. Weather and fire restrictions permitting, we will also have our fire pit going so guests can warm up and roast marshmallows.
We will end the evening together with what’s sure to be a memorable experience, a group pack howl under the stars! Attendees will also have a chance to win their very own telescope with our fundraising raffle.
