Sona is 1 of 3 sled dogs rescued and Merlin is 1 of our 10 newest resident pack members. Unfortunately, both Sona and Merlin are experiencing medical complications that will require further veterinary intervention.

Sona

Sona has torn her cruciate ligament in both her left and right rear leg. These ruptures will require corrective surgery to repair. On January 14th, Sona underwent her first of two surgeries to repair the cruciate ligament she torn in both her left and right rear legs. Sona is recovering from her first surgery and is in constant care and supervision to ensure that she is taking things slowly and at low impact. For a husky, it is certainly hard for Sona to keep still! However, we are up for the challenge in ensuring that Sona is keeping safe and on the road to recovery. She will undergo her second surgery in a few week's time. The cost of the corrective surgery alone is $3,000/leg.

Merlin

Merlin has undergone surgery on January 8th to remove a broken tooth which has resulted in him experiencing discomfort, pain, and challenges while eating. Similar to Goldie’s previous complications, also underwent his neutering surgery. The total cost for both operations and antibiotics is $1,165. Merlin is recovering nicely and is now showing minimal signs of discomfort and pain. We are hopeful that he will continue to heal from his surgeries and be pain-free soon!
