Shannon has always had a passion for animals. From a young age, she grew up around horses and farm animals, spending most of her free time learning from and observing all types of animal interactions. This allowed her to gain experience in equine care and animal behaviour. Shannon completed her undergraduate degree in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Law from Carleton University. A year after graduating she made the trek from Ontario to Alberta where she pursued an internship position at the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary in June of 2022. Shortly after starting her internship, Shannon was offered a full-time position as an Animal Care Attendant and Tour Guide. Shannon has been able to join her love of animals and the environment/ wildlife conservation together while being able to learn more about wolfdogs and wolf conservation in Alberta. Shannon loves being a part of wolf and wolfdog education as well as sharing her passion for animals with visitors. When she's not talking to visitors and running tours, she enjoys working with wolfdogs through enrichment activities and getting to know all their unique quirks.
