Jessica’s love for the animals of the world was founded from a young age. Since she can remember, she always maintained a fascination for the natural world and the animals in it. Growing up, Jessica was constantly found in the chicken coop or sheep enclosure at her grandma’s farm, in the horse stables at her aunt’s place and constantly bringing home frogs, caterpillars and wandering kittens (much to her mother’s dismay).
Never growing out of the wanderlust and curiosity stage of her youth, Jessica continues to explore the worlds wilderness with her two pups, Bella and Ollie. Although stemming from a sport and business background, Jessica became captivated with the wolfdogs at Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary when she visited the Sanctuary in the summer of 2017. When she moved from Edmonton to the Calgary area not long afterward, she jumped on the chance to become a volunteer and never left. Now, as the Fundraising and Event Coordinator, Jessica is able to combine her passion for wolfdogs and animal rescue with her skills and background in fundraising and business.
